Remedial program

As of December 2012, all individuals convicted of an impaired driving offence must complete the Information and Motivation for Positive Action and Choices Today (IMPACT) program in order to apply to have their licence reinstated.

Eligibility

First and repeat offenders can volunteer for the program after serving the minimum court-ordered prohibition. They can also be mandated by Driver Control Board to participate.

Violations can lead to warnings, extensions of program participation, and removal from the program (which results in an indefinite licence suspension).
